Using RFID to monitor the safety of the elderly

At present, among the 2,980 permanent residents of the South Second Community, there are 458 elderly people over the age of 60, accounting for 15% of the total population of the community, and the characteristics of aging are obvious. As a typical social type of non-standardized property old community, the South Second Community faces many problems.

In April of this year, the Haidian District Government funded the Nanji Community as the pilot project for the aging renovation of the first old district in Beijing, and carried out five major aspects: the old living environment, the travel environment, the healthy environment, the service environment, and the social and cultural environment for the elderly. The design has been upgraded. At present, the construction of the elderly and livable environment in the South Second Community has taken shape. Among them, the community has carried out aging transformation of 99 households over 80 years old and elderly families with severe disability, including anti-slip mats, induction night lights, continuous handles, bathing chairs, etc., which are convenient for the elderly to take care of themselves, and equipped with smart devices. Real-time monitoring of data such as bedtime, habitual movements, toilets, bathing, etc. If there is an abnormality, the elderly family members and medical staff can be informed at the first time.

In addition, the community has set up a 24-hour monitoring and management center to provide real-time monitoring, long-term tracking, and health guidance using RFID electronic tags, smart care, and smart home health care technology. When an elderly person has an accident at home, he can call at the touch of a button, and the staff will arrive at the elderly home in the first place.
